Binakol Sotanghon

The famous “Binakol” of Western Visayas
 (a recipe that includes chicken, coconut, green papaya, leafy vegetables, lemon grass and spices) is made more hearty and filling with Komeya Sotanghon. 100% “namits” (delicious) and “nakakabusog” (satisfying)! You will want to eat second and third servings!

INGREDIENTS:

Noodles:

1 pack     KOMEYA SOTANGHON
½ kg   
Chicken, adobo cut
1 pc   
Fresh Buko
1 cup   
Sayote/Papaya, sliced
1 pc   
White Onion, quartered
2 tbsp   
Ginger, sliced
As needed
Dahon ng Sili
1 pc   
Chicken Broth Cubes
2 tbsp   
Fish Sauce
1 cup   
Water
To taste
Salt
To taste
Pepper

PROCEDURE:

  1. In a pot, place chicken, onion and ginger, then season with salt, pepper, and fish sauce. Add water and chicken broth cubes, then cover, boil and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Add KOMEYA SOTANGHON, buko meat and juice, sayote, and dahon ng sili. Cover and let it simmer for another 10 minutes, or until chicken is cooked and tender.
  3. Season according to your taste. Serve while hot.
